Biography

Hanshen Li received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an dual M.S. degree in Computer Science from Waseda University, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from North China Electric Power University. He is currently a Researcher at the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute and also Youth Growth Mentor for Beijing Municipal Committee of Youth League. Prior to 2023, he was Deputy Secretary of Youth League Working Committee of Yongding Road Subdistrict. Prof. Li serves on Editorial Board of Journal of Energy Science and Technology and Editorial Board Member of EcoEnergy. He is a member of IEEE, IEEJ, CSEE, and CES. His research interests span power systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Dr. Lanxin Jiang is an Assistant Professor at the College of Business at Stony Brook University. She received her PhD in accounting and information systems from Rutgers University and joined Stony Brook University in 2025. Professor Jiang's research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and accounting, with a particular focus on how technologies can improve the effectiveness and integrity of financial and ESG reporting. Her recent work includes developing Machine Learning models to detect financial misconduct and improve the validity of accounting estimates, applying explainable AI to optimize audit partner-client matching, and exploring the role of emerging technologies in ESG reporting and greenwashing detection. Professor Jiang's work has been published in top tier journals including The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, and more. Dr. Alex Rinehart is an associate professor of hydrology at New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM, USA. His research focus is on coupled (bio-chemo-thermo-mechanical) processes in porous media, ranging from ecohydrology to rock fracture and enhanced geothermal to geological carbon sequestration, primarily through the lense of laboratory and field studies. Prior to working as a professor, he was a hydrogeologist at the New Mexico Bureau of Geology, where he worked on regional groundwater conceptual models, state-wide groundwater storage change maps and geologic risk assessments, and carbon storage.

She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Advanced 2nd Generation Laboratory at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Her research focuses on metabolic engineering and bioprocess development for the production of cellulosic biofuels, with a particular interest in thermophilic bacteria. Isabela has experience in microbiology, genetic engineering, and integrated bioprocess strategies to improve biomass conversion efficiency. Her work contributes to advancing sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels through innovative biotechnological approaches. Hen Friman earned his M.Sc. in 2007 and his Ph.D. in 2012 in Life Sciences from Bar-Ilan University, where his doctoral research pioneered innovative energy generation methods for degrading aromatic compounds using microbial fuel cells. He currently serves as a researcher and lecturer at the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) within the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and is the Academic Director of the Renewable Energy & Smart Grid Excellence Center. Dr. Friman is a leader in pedagogical and professional innovation, having developed the "paperless" laboratory model for experiential learning in renewable energy and designed the "Pre-Project and Soft Skills" curriculum to enhance essential engineering competencies. His multidisciplinary work bridges academia and practice through project management in both community and industrial contexts. Dr. Waleed Shaaban Abdelsalam Mohamed is an Egyptian academic and researcher currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Power Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, where he also serves as the Vice Director of the Mechatronics Engineering Program. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical and Petrochemicals Engineering from the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology in 2018 and completed his M.Sc. in Mechanical Power Engineering at Mansoura University in 2010.
